People Buy From Their Friends!

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on June 1, 2010 by cheriewinship

More than anything in my business I love to network!! Nothing thrills me more than to recommend a friend that I know offers a product or service that I feel sure, is safe, reliable, and trust worthy! It is such an amazing feeling to pick up the phone with a referral & meet someone for the first time because your friend finds you to be safe, reliable, and trustworthy!! It takes time to build relationships in business although gone are the days of transactional sales and it is a good feeling to know that there are folks we can support in business who are willing to go the extra mile to take care of the customer and build a “Business” instead of a Fly By Night, One Buck Chuck, Here Today Gone Tomorrow Operation! Happy Sales To You!

Business can be tough! Life can be tough! But know the right way to vent your frustrations when the time comes. Nothing is a bigger turn off than to go into business and hear the employees complaining about the owner the product the pay etc. I never said their complaints were not legit! There are always issues the employee sees and deals with on a daily basis that could stand improvement in every aspect of business. A better way to “Deal”! Take care of the customer and spare them your dilemma. When you are frustrated with proper planning and much forethought, reach up to your leader and vent your frustration and ask if you can make some suggestions towards solutions. Just as there is always something annoying about your work environment there are some positive aspects too. Cling to what you see as being right with your work environment and never pass up the opportunity to spotlight those aspects for your customer or employees who answer to you! Make it your habit to be optimistic helpful & encouraging to internal & external customers.

No Such Thing As Failure!

Posted in Uncategorized on May 13, 2010 by cheriewinship

What does it mean to fail? I really don’t believe in failure! Unless we are talking about someone whose not willing to try. If you apply yourself to any task you have won!! There are so many critics who are happy to sit on the couch and be a naysayer. And then there are a few select who are willing to look their fears in the eye and just get out and do the thing that terrifies them! Weather it means presenting a product you believe in, picking up the telephone or speaking in front of a group! In my eyes you are already a success because you apply yourself and do the thing that scares you the most. Failure does not exist. What is real is attempting to do something you believe you can not and improving on that task by repeating it over & over, over & over, over & over, over again!! It is through so called, “Failure” that we develop into experts! You can do anything you want you only need get off the couch and put one foot in front of the other!! Go get em Tiger! Happy Sales to You!

Accidental Success

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on May 12, 2010 by cheriewinship

I am a Flight Attendant and along with my husband we operate three other businesses. We are constantly amazed however, not surprised, how much business we gain by accident. By accident, I mean, business we somewhat stumble upon either through referrals or often times just because we make it our primary focus to be relational with folks and gain a companies business based on our friendship! Imagine all of the sales or business you stubble across and how you could increase your sales by spending a small percentage of time analyzing what went right and how you could improve. One of my favorite benefits of sales/business is the character you build! Every time I walk away from a customer I carefully determine my strengths and weaknesses and how I want to improve on both accounts and I encourage you to do the same. As a result you too will be pleasantly surprised with “accidental sales” & many more sales of “purpose” in your future! Happy Sales to you!

NO!!!!! What does it Really Mean In Sales?

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on May 7, 2010 by cheriewinship

No for most people in Sales means a closed door and the end of opportunity. For me No means several other things. Like No next! One more “No” means I am a few calls from my Yes!! No means, “Not Now” but check with me again sometime. No means, “The timing is not right for me but several people come to mind that this would be great for and I am not sharing unless you do the work because just maybe one day I will sell this to them! (I call that camping out on people!) No for me, being the youngest child can also mean you must not understand me and maybe you need me to jump up and down on the table to present my great offer. My point, No means Be Encouraged and Never take NO for an Answer if you believe in your product, you believe everyone needs one and it’s your job to educate them on why they need it every chance you get. Or maybe you should just go get a safe job where you exchange hours of your life for money but that is a story for another day! Happy Sales To You! Tough Guys!

A few suggestions for anyone in sales/business. (We are “All” in Sales!) Do what you say you will Do! Be where you say you will Be! Be On Time even Early! Follow up with folks! Answer your phone! Respond to the customers email! Let Your Yes be Yes & Your No be No! Be Consistant! These small practices have made me a very successful woman! Happy Sales To You!

Sales! Don’t Get Me Started

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on March 22, 2010 by cheriewinship

I like short and sweet… so let me just try to make one point about Sales and let you all go so you can make some!!
If you sell Carrotts! “TELL PEOPLE”
People like to buy from their friends so if you have something you sell, “TELL PEOPLE!”
Which brings me to my next point that I am only making one of!
If you don’t want to tell people you sell something then, “Stop Selling It!”
You have to believe in what you sell 100%!
Which brings me to point #3.
Don’t tell me your not the, “Salesie Type.”
You sold the movie, the air freshener, the steak house, the cell phone, the tennis shoes, the watch, the shirt etc. etc.
So why don’t you sell something you, “Believe In” & “Get Paid For?”
Or better yet why don’t you just go sit on the couch and eat Bon Bons while those of us with Big Girl/ Big Boy Panties go make mo Dolla Dolla Bills!!

Good Character!

If you are ever curious about who you are doing business with don’t waist your time trying to determine ones character. A.) You will probably fail your test. B.) Your subject, putting their best foot forward, will probably scue your first impression. As Adults we often blow the opportunity at representing who we really are because we are so busy trying to be someone we are not! Do you get me??? We could stand to relax and be ourselves more often!!

If you want to know who you are doing business with, have a chat with their four year old! I was recently in a friends home that I am involved with in business. My husband was working quietly at his computer and her 3 year old daughter and 4 year old son were working at putting their puzzles together in the same area. In passing her son told my husband, “I Love You!.” My husband was delighted to hear this so naturally he retorted, “I love you too Pal!” To which the young lad replied, ” Ya well if I don’t Love You, I’m Outta here!”

Interestingly enough as we later prepared to depart his Mommy gave me a big hug and said very candidly, “I Love You Cherie`” And that my dear friends is what business is all about!

The Power of Scents and Brand Development

Posted in Uncategorized on March 13, 2010 by cheriewinship

Martin Lindstrom, author of Brand Sense: Build powerful brands through touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound, says that 75 percent of all the emotions we generate every day are due to what we smell—not see. Interestingly he goes on to say that 83 percent of all the commercial communication we’re exposed to every day is crafted to appeal to just our eyes.

“The sense of smell has surprising powers,” claims Lindstrom. “Through our research, we’ve seen that we’re not only able to change consumers’ impression of a brand, we can also change consumers’ perception of time, size and quality.”

Lindstrom says the roots of scent-ual branding stem from more tactical objects, where scent was merely a byproduct.

“We were only able to identify a handful of brands which truly owned an aroma linked to their brand (outside the fragrance-related product categories),” explains Lindstrom. “Play-Doh and Crayola Crayons were hardly aware of the power their aromas represented.”

“In some cases, a signature fragrance is product-related, like Play-Doh, or crayons,” agrees David Van Epps, CEO of ScentAir, a North Carolina-based scent development firm in partnership with well-known background music provider, Muzak. “In others, a signature fragrance has to do with the environment, like Starbucks or quick service restaurants. The aroma may not even always be pleasant, but they become part of the overall brand. And now brand-conscious companies want to harness aroma in a positive way, over time creating an association between the brand and a pleasing aroma.”
